Jan Van der Roost's new work Jubilus! will make an ideal opening piece for any event. It is in a classic ABA form, beginning with a rising brass fanfare, which is quickly replaced by a contrasting expressive lyrical theme. The two themes alternate for a few seconds until an exciting new atmosphere is created with the lively allegro. This eventful piece allows you to show off many aspects of your players' style and technique without losing overall unity.

This concert march does not begin with flourishing trumpets or loud tutti sounds, but opens refreshingly with percussion instruments and the high woodwind section. This original introduction is followed by a broad melodic theme and gradually features other instrumental groups, and thus, section by section, the entire band is presented. Gioacchino Rossini was a musical prodigy, composing his first opera when he was eighteen years old. At the age of 37, after having written 39 operas, he almost completely stopped composing and devoted himself to the culinary arts and the mysteries of wine! In his opera L'Italiana in Algeri, Rossini shows the differences in mentality between two countries on the Mediterranean Sea, Turkey and Italy. The exotic themes and oriental sound colors used by Rossini, retained in this transcription for concert band, have ensured that L'Italiana is still loved today by a wide audience. Dur: 8:30
