This beautiful carol is a favorite for holiday concerts and church services. Philip Sparke's arrangement presents four contrasting verses of the carol, interspersed with a recurring theme, which both opens and closes the work. This new version of the Christmas classic will bring joy to both performers and audiences alike.

This lively work by Jacob de Haan takes its inspiration from the court dances of the ancient Ottoman (Turkish) Empire. These dances had their origins in the theatre and the performers used a mixture of highly ornate costumes, comical masks and lavish body language. The two contrasting movements of this work will bring a bit of ancient South European culture to any concert program.

This piece is all about optimism - something we need more than ever in these seemingly dark days. The piece begins in sombre mood, symbolizing the doubts we have about ourselves and our lives. The central section represents the struggle to overcome pain, then the ending broadens into a wide, flowing theme as we find joy and optimism.
