DE HASKE THE BOOK OF URIZEN DHCB5
1.The Vision 2.The Creation The Book of Urizen is a work for concert band, voice (soprano), and a male narrator in which sound collages of religious expressions are used. It was inspired by William Blake's poem of the same name. This English poet occupies a unique position in Western literature and the visual arts. He was not just a poet and writer, but also a graphic artist, a painter, an illustrator, a spiritualist, a religious visionary and a mystic philosopher. Blake's compelling visionary poems, which he illustrated himself, form the musical blueprint for this composition. For the performance of this work, a PA, a CD player and two microphones are needed.
