Originally recorded by Bill Withers in the '70s and recently updated on the hit TV series Glee this familiar rock hit will be a fun one for the band and audience alike. Robert Longfield does a nice job of passing the melody around to all sections.

Distinguished composer Warren Benson has contributed a wealth of significant literature to the band repertoire. 'The Leaves Are Falling' is undoubtedly one of his best known, and now is once again available in this new edition from Hal Leonard.

Commissioned by the Cabarrus All-County Middle School Band (Concord, North Carolina), this work was inspired by the composer's Irish heritage and the rich history of Ireland. With three main themes, this programmatic work opens with a peaceful sunrise with mist rising from the bog. The second theme describes the great hall of a majestic medieval castle, complete with vibrant colors and pageantry. The exciting battle theme follows and ultimately resolves to a return of the earlier themes. A wonderfully effective setting for beginning players! Dur: 3:10 (Includes Full Performance CD)

The blend of inventive melodies, biting rhythms, exotic percussion, and special effects performed by the entire band, once again demonstrates Michael's solid, confident craftsmanship for today's concert groups.
