The brass get in the act quickly with tutti passages and finally a powerful shout. Including additional solo space for guitar and alto sax, this is one works nicely as a concert opener.

Frank Mantooth is one of today's most creative arrangers for jazz ensemble and he treats us here to a marvelously unique take on this well-known standard. The style is straight-ahead swing but the harmonic structure is fresh and the ensemble writing is super. It starts with alto and trumpet on the melody and includes solo space for any combination of alto, trumpet or trombone.
