From the movie Somewhere in Time, John Barry's infectious theme has become a classica and is skillfully arranged in this setting for band. A haunting melody with rich sonorous chords and a beautiful orchestration give this selection a very unique quality.

Back in the late '80s, the animated film An American Tail was a blockbuster, and this hit song recorded by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram was taking the nation by storm. This enduring ballad is beautifully scored for young players in this adaptation by John Berry. (Includes full performance CD)

Composed as a tribute to jazz great Horace Silver, this chart is set in a moderate cha-cha groove and includes marvelous melodic lines and outstanding ensemble writing. Also included is a brief double time section and solo for tenor sax.

This well-known composition by Horace Silver is written in a moderate Latin style. Mark's version is based on Horace's own classic arrangement and features some very nice ensemble writing. Includes a flexible solo section with written out samples for any instrument.

Written in a Latin style, this moderately paced chart includes a creative harmonic structure in minor and a flowing melody with counterlines. Nicely scored for the entire ensemble, this will make even inexperienced bands sound great.

Recorded on the Grammy-nominated CD I Am Three by the Mingus Big Band, this composition was originally written by Mingus for a 1959 television drama. Arranged here for the Mingus Big Band by the late great John Stubblefield, the chart opens with a bluesy piano introduction, followed by an accelerando that kicks into a high-energy shuffle groove. Solos are included for tenor sax, trombone, trumpet and piano. A sizzling ensemble shout and group improvisation bring it all to an exciting finish!
