Composer Rick Stitzel brings us this wonderful easy samba that features smooth lines and nice harmonies. The brass and sax sections answer each other in an effective dialogue and there is solo space for any saxophone.

Originally recorded by Charles Mingus on his Mingus Ah Um album in 1959, Sy Johnson has transformed this through-composed ballad into a stunningly beautiful setting for full jazz ensemble. Featuring effective dynamic contours, a nice variety of textures, and solos for trumpet and tenor, this will become a focal point for concerts or festivals.

Possibly the all-time favorite ballad! With sensitive lyrics and a superb melodic treatment, this will be the hit of any performance!

This familiar Stevie Wonder ballad was a pop hit in 1979 and has been imaginatively reworked here as a relaxed samba. Beautifully scored, this chart includes solos for alto sax and guitar (or piano). Nice change of pace!
