This work was commissioned for the 2010 Washington Music Educators Association Youth Honor Chorus.

Shirley McRae is well-known for her excellent arrangements of folk songs for young voices and this new setting continues her forward trend. With a bouncing piano part enhanced by a percussive triangle, along with a dancing clarinet line, the story of the little fox is narrated in song. The rhymes are fun and the fable enchanting. Enjoy!

As a follow-up to Ken Berg's extremely successful Solfege Suite #1, here is Solfege Suite #2! Besides teaching solfege, form and other musical elements, they also stand as performance pieces. Each title describes the form employed and the character of the work.
