Romania boasts an endless wealth of folk music and culture. While the music of the north still sounds familiar to West-European ears, it becomes gradually faster and fierier towards the south. The six movements of Romanian Dances consist of various folk songs collected and arranged by the composer, and represent a cross section of styles from dances with stomping and drumming to dances associated with prayer. For this spirited concert march, the creative and lively mind of Galileo Galilei, the great Italian mathematician, physicist, and astronomer, served as a source of inspiration. Galileo was the founder of experimental thinking in physics, and he made numerous discoveries and formulated many useful theories in this field. Galileo believed his discoveries should be shown to the common people. He tried to encourage them to think for themselves, and he published his research results in the form of dialogues that were easy to understand. This accessible concert march - a suitable homage to Galileo - builds a bridge between the musician and the listener. Dur: 6:20

It is said that unimaginable amounts of gold are hidden deep within the Fisserjoch in Tirol (in central Europe). Legend has it a giant made out of gold stands watch over it. Sometimes, late at night, mysterious lights can be seen and the sounds of treasure hunters drift into the valley; but at the break of dawn all is silent. The Golden Secret tells the tale of gold, giants and the mysterious events at the Fisserjoch. Dur: 8:50

Written to celebrate the Zeppelin-Foundation's centennial, Thomas Doss' first symphony represents the passionate history of the world's most renowned airship. Throughout his contrasting score, Thomas Doss has captured Count von Zeppelin's obsession and the subsequent realization of his dream of producing a flying cigar! The first movement describes how passionate Count von Zeppelin was about his idea and the vision that got hold of him. Towards the end of the movement the music swells to a pictorial image of the count, in which he sees the ship floating above himself. Dur: 8:05 (Grade 5)

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the death of the legendary Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, Stefan Schwalgin has produced Grieg as you have never heard him before, bringing his music into present day with this rocking arrangement of In the Hall of the Mountain King (from the finale of Peer Gynt). We're sure if Grieg were alive today he would certainly have approved! Dur: 4:05
