A virtuoso pianist who was admired across Europe even as a young girl, Clara Wieck Schumann (she married great composer Robert Schumann) also composed many pieces during her youthful career. She began her piano concerto in early 1833 and ultimately finished it in 1836, at the grand age of 17!
