HAL LEONARD LES CHENEAUX IMPRESSIONS MW3

This ambitious work was inspired by the Les Cheneaux region in northern Michigan. Written in the form of a suite, each movement describes a different element of this area steeped in colorful history and beauty. I. Early Exploration is a bold statement with stirring brass and powerful percussion writing. II. Onomonee is reminiscent of the early native people to inhabit the region and features a solo Indian Flute (opt. recorder or flute) along with contemporary harmonies and rhythm patterns. III. Huron Nocturne is a marvelously lyric movement which features the woodwinds. IV. New Beginnings brings this impressive work to a close with an energetic 6/8 pulse and spirited melodies. (8:15)
