While travelling in Europe in the summer of 1990, composer Kumiko Tanaka was most inspired by locations in the Andalusian region of Spain. The blue skies, white walls and bright sun of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga all attracted her; each alley she explored had its own unique feel, reflecting Arabian, Islamic or Jewish tradition.
