MEREDITH 4 PERCUSSION QUARTETS FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS

These 4 pieces, Waltz, Sad Song, Rain, and Shake It Out, offer this often-neglected percussion group musically satisfying and fun-to-play pieces. The techniques required are rudimentary, and the instruments are usually available to the beginning band director. The pieces are written from the unique percussionist's prospective, where students are expected to: * Count multiple bars rest * Play numerous repeated measures * Play a muber of different instruments on the same part * Count measures while switching mallets and instruments. All parts can be doubled for larger groups.
